About
Shirene Anand has a passionate, sophisticated eye for change. It was her inquisition about the realm of image-making that led her to strive for change through her lens. Owing to her immersive childhood, Shirene started photography with her father at the tender age of nine. She found a channel to express her emotiveness and recognize the value of capturing disparate perspectives.
Shirene’s work reflects a profound understanding of the power of images to evoke emotions and provoke thought. She has had her work of images exhibited at several locations, including New York and New Delhi. Her portfolio is a visual journey that mirrors the amalgamation of innocence and tranquility, inviting viewers to contemplate the profound changes happening in the world through her lens. She has also worked at several art galleries, including the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, where she assisted her curators in organizing the G20 Summit commencing in September 2023. The purity in her approach to storytelling through photography sets her apart as an artist who captures not just moments but the essence of change itself.
In her artistic endeavors, Shirene draws inspiration from a diverse array of visionaries. Influenced by the evocative artistry of Frida Kahlo, the thought-provoking narratives of Shirin Neshat, the raw emotion of Sohrab Hura, and the timeless beauty of Amrita Sher-Gil, Shirene synthesizes these influences into a unique and compelling visual language. Her work pays homage to these artistic luminaries while forging a distinct path that is undeniably her own. Shirene’s journey is a celebration of the inquisitive spirit, a visual exploration of change, and a testament to the power of art to transcend boundaries. As she continues to hone her craft and share her unique vision with the world, Shirene stands as a promising talent in the realm of photography, inviting audiences to embrace the transformative power of images.
